Yellow Naiads circumnavigate AustraliaUpdate - September 2011 Rob Pennicott's "Follow the Yellow Boat Road" circumnavigation of Australia and Tasmania in an outboard-driven boat, was completed on 11 September 2011. The trip started on 31st May from Sydney. Two 5.4m Naiads are making the circumnavigation in support of eradication of the crippling disease polio. Driving force behind the campaign is Rob Pennicott, a well-known adventure tourism operator from Tasmania. He is skippering one of the boats, and the second is skippered by Mick Sorter.
The boats are 5.4m Naiads with twin 60hp Mercury outboards, underfloor fuel tanks, extra on-deck fuel tanks, gps and radar, satellite tracking and Ullman seating.
