The America's cup racing is well under way with the leaderboard closing up in Venice over the weekend. Very close, tight, and challenging racing was on display for the Venetian crowds. Thousands of spectators watched on the water, lined the waterfront and took to the Grand Canal to cheer on the AC45 crews. The next stop in the inaugural America’s Cup World Series (AC World Series) is Newport, Rhode Island.
Late next month the first of the Naiad 12.9m tenders for Oracle will be launched. An exciting time for Naiad, as back in the 1995 America’s Cup, when New Zealand won, Naiads were used as support boats and then again in 2000 when New Zealand successfully defended the America’s Cup. So watch this space.
