March 2014
Caloundra Coastguard in Queensland, Australia, recently launched their new 10.2 metre Naiad rescue vessel built by Yamba Welding & Engineering.
It is running a twin diesel inboard engine set up with Yanmar 315 engines, ZF Marine Gearboxs and Hamilton Water Jets. This setup is the first of it's kind in Australia.
The fenders are foam core D-shape with Naiad's extra heavy duty outer material covering them to give a traditional RHIB appearance. The Naiad has the traditional rescue cabin style, a customised interior layout to suit Caloundra Coastguard and an impressive electronics package, including a FLIR system.
